Wheel Easy!

Ripon Loiterers Cycle Club has close links with Wheel Easy! - the Harrogate based cycle group and so we provide some details of their activities here. For further information please visit their website www.wheel–easy.org.uk.

Sunday rides start at Hornbeam Park railway station, off Hookstone Road, at 9.30am from April to October and 10am from November to March unless stated otherwise. Details of additional weekday, Speedy (usually 14-15mph), Super Easy and other rides are also shown on the Ride calendar. We look forward to welcoming you to WHEEL EASY!

Wednesday evening rides (May to August) start at 6.30pm prompt, also from Hornbeam Park. The pace is medium/fast typically averaging at least 12 mph on hilly routes. If you are not sure of your abilities you are still very welcome and you will get a lot of encouragement. But be prepared to turn back if you are struggling to keep up with the pace. It is an ad hoc arrangement so rides and leaders are sorted at the rendezvous. Lights are a essential in case of a gloomy evening or delays. We also recommend taking a full water bottle and tool kit.

Boroughbridge Distance: 48 km / 30 miles, Knaresborough, Farnham, Burton Leonard, Bishop Monkton, Right to Roecliffe, Boroughbridge (optional tea stop), Aldborough, Grafton, Arkendale. L to Coneythorpe, Flaxby, R and L on A59 to Goldsborough. If dry take track at south of village to St James Park roundabout, Abbey Road. If wet follow road back to Knaresborough, straight over roundabout on A59, Abbey Road. Home via Calcutt. - Mainly flat
Medium Plus Ride - Ian
After Aldborough keep south to Lower Dunsforth, and Upper Dunsforth, Gt Ouseburn, Thorpe Underwood, Whixley, Cattal, Cowthorpe, Little Ribston, Spofforth, Follifoot and return.
